Celebrating 50 years with Packy.
Friday, April 13th 2012 / Oregon Zoo Ballroom / 6:00pm
Join us as Director of Elephant Habitats Mike Keele takes us on a journey through Packy’s life and times. Zoo Director Kim Smith will talk about the elephant habitat vision to come and Congressman Kurt Schrader will round out the evening with a special tribute to Dr. Matthew Maberry.
Menu:
Harkening back to yester-year, our menu features classic dishes and incorporates some of Packy’s favorite foods.
First Course:
Swedish meatballs
Prosciutto wrapped melon
Puff pastry with sweet potato filling (v)
Mini finger sandwiches (v)
Wine pairing: Columbia Crest Chardonnay
Second Course:
Wedge salad with roquefort dressing (v)
Wine pairing: Owen Roe - Sharecropper's Pinot Noir
Third Course:
Vegetarian: Eggplant parmesan napoleon with smoked mozzarella, basil and a tomato coulis served with dressed asparagus (v)
Fish: Trout Almandine served with celebration rice pilaf and dressed asparagus
Beef: Braised Shortribs Bourguignon with smashed Yukon gold potatoes and dressed asparagus
Wine pairing: Owen Roe - Sinister Hand Grenache blend
Fourth Course:
Assorted miniature sweets (v)
Wine pairing: Owen Roe - The Parting Glass Late Harvest Semillon
