Our History
In 1996 online giving was a novelty. Few companies existed to help non-profits raise money online. We set out to change that by creating a company founded on the desire to blend a business opportunity with a chance to do some good. We helped many large charities launch online giving including: Mercy Corps International, Make-A-Wish FoundationTM of America, CaringBridge, CARE - USA, Amnesty International - USA, Smile Train, Disabled American Veterans, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Special Olympics.

Our Founder - Kurt Hansen
Kurt grew up on a family farm in Maryland where family, faith and community were driving forces in his life. He is a nerd at heart and holds a BSE in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University and a MSE in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Stanford University. After spending time at several Silicon Valley high tech firms, he decided he wanted to do something he was more passionate about. That's when he returned to Stanford for his MBA/MSE and founded CharityWeb. CharityWeb is a small company and Kurt plays an integral role in product development and large client accounts. With over 15 years of hands on experience helping leading charities, we think it's safe to say he's an industry pioneer and online fundraising expert. Kurt resides in Maryland with his wife, Nancy, and their 4 children.

Our secure forms accept all credit cards, ACH and PayPal donations. You need your own merchant account to use our service. The $49 monthly includes an account with our partner, Moneris, for $14.90 per month. ACH processing is an extra $7 per month to Moneris. See table for all processing rates. Absolutely not - that's our job! Our engineers match the look and feel of your existing site - copying the wrapper and navigation. Donors will feel like they never left your site. The page is hosted on our secure server and you simply link to it from the Donate button on your homepage. We take care of providing the online receipt and sending the email thank you with your organization's email address.
We do the same amount of work regardless of size so it just doesn't feel right to charge more based on the donation amount. We want you to keep as much of each donation as possible!
Sure. Sometimes internal practices require you to use a specific account. We'll need to connect via a gateway so there are additional setup and monthly fees. Contact us for more information.
Yes. We can setup a special page for your campaign where you can accept donor pledge and payment information. We automatically divide the pledge into equal payments based on donor selection (monthly, quarterly, pay all at once) and send an email thank you after each successful pledge payment.
We store your data in a password protected control panel. You can view and download into an Excel or CSV file format 24/7. We do not charge for multiple users.
Yes. Security is at the heart of our business. We go through quarterly certification with McAfee.
We have a lot of experience dealing with fraudsters and have several safe guards in place that virtually eliminate fraud.

Our flat transaction fee is pretty unique too. We're committed to not taking a percentage of the transaction so you get to keep more of what you earn.
