Fight for Phil. Fight ALS.

On Saturday, February 7, 2026, our family—along with hundreds of others from Monmouth County and beyond—will take part in the Valentine’s Plunge in honor of our dad, brother, uncle, friend, and husband,

Phil Barretti.

Phil was a fighter throughout his entire life—a devoted, loving father, husband, and family man who faced every challenge with strength, courage, and heart. We are plunging in solidarity with people living with ALS (pALS), a disease that Phil confronted with the same determination that defined him.

ALS, or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, gradually taking away a person’s ability to move, speak, eat, and eventually breathe—while their mind remains fully intact. It is a devastating diagnosis, and one our family knows all too well.

While we’ll be facing icy ocean water for a few moments, those living with ALS face far greater challenges every minute of every day. This plunge is our way of standing beside them—and of continuing Phil’s fight for better care, support, and ultimately, a cure.

The “plunge” we’re asking you to make doesn’t involve cold water—but it does make a meaningful impact. Every single donation, no matter the size, helps fund critical research, services, and support for individuals and families affected by ALS. Simply click the Donate button above to make a secure online donation.

Thank you for supporting this cause, for standing with our family, and for helping us honor Phil’s legacy.

With love and gratitude.
