Dear Friends,

As you know, I am a member of the board of directors for Neighborhood House, an organization that helps families move from just surviving to truly thriving. One of the organization’s key focuses is to assist families gain access to fresh foods and vegetables all year-round.

In Minnesota, 1 in 10 adults and 1 in 7 children experience food insecurity (not having reliable access to enough and or healthy food to lead an active, healthy life). It is said that today’s children might be the first generation not to outlive their parents because of poor health.

We can do something about this.

I’d like you to be a part of a special event happening this month. Each spring, Neighborhood House is involved in the March Food Drive, a statewide campaign through Minnesota Food Share. Last year, we were able to raise over $175,000/pounds of food for families who participate in our program and this year our goal is even bigger.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Donate: Hit the red donate button at the top of this page.

Money goes three to four times further than food donations, since Neighborhood House purchases food in bulk. It takes just $36 to feed a family of four for a week.

  • Host a food drive of your own (we’ll help you figure out how to do it!).
  • Volunteer your time

Thank you for considering participating in this event. I know we can make a difference in helping bridge the food gap in Minnesota

Most appreciatively,

Sarah Sanfilippo
