How Do We Use Our Time and Treasure? An Invitation

We ask you to consider making a donation to one, or both, of the following causes –  Dorothy Day Catholic Worker House in DC (DDCW), and the New Neighbors Interfaith Alliance (NNIA).

An anonymous donor is covering 100% of the online transaction fees so 100% of your donation will go to DDCW or NNIA.

DDCW urgently needs funds ($30,000 with $15,000 raised so far) to repair the plumbing in the building that has long provided housing and community to new neighbor families – along with the Catholic Workers who live there and peacemakers from around the world who stay there while in DC to do peace and justice work.

NNIA, a collaborative of close to 30 faith and community organizations, is helping dozens of new neighbor families from around the world who take refuge in the greater DMV area. Volunteers assist them with housing, schooling for children and ESL for adults, jobs, health care, and other immediate needs. Right now, we are working with over 25 Afghan families as well as families from Syria, Iran, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Haiti, Ukraine, Peru, and elsewhere.  Most of NNIA’s work is in Montgomery County but we have also resettled Afghan families in the Baltimore area, DC, and Prince George's County.
