Please support me in my swim across the mighty Hudson River to benefit the Beacon River Pool! Last year (my first swim!) I raised over $1,000! Here's how the Beacon River Pool administrators used the money.The primary use of the money raised by the Swim is the ongoing expenses of running the pool. This includes, but is not limited to, paying the lifeguards and pool manager and funding our insurance, maintenance, and repairs. During the previous two years the pool applied for and received a grant from the Hudson River Estuary Program so that it could refurbish the pool's rainbow seats. As much as that grant was appreciated, the pool also needed to supplement the funds so that it could complete the project. Swim donors enabled the pool to continue offering River access to underserved communities, thus providing opportunities for recreation and the development of a sense of stewardship for the next generation.
