Hello to all my friends, family and colleagues. I will be swimming across the Hudson River to raise money for the Beacon River Pool. As many of you know, I grew up swimming in a competitive swimming league, almost 35 yrs have passed since the glory days of endless laps and swimming events.
15 years ago, was the last time I attempted this aquatic journey from Newburgh NY to Beacon NY (roughly 1 mile). Admittedly I am 15 yrs older and not as active as I once was and have a bit of nervousness this time. This personal challenge was inspired by a dear colleague and friend - Doug Phillips.
Doug's unwavering dedication to the Beacon River Pool inspired me to take on this challenge, and I hope my efforts will, in turn, inspire others to support this vital community resource. Your donations will directly impact the lives of countless children and adults who rely on the pool for recreation, fitness, and vital swimming lessons. Every stroke I take will be fueled by your generosity and the memory of that first triumphant swim, fifteen years ago. Let's make a splash together!
