Join Father Shawn Matthew Anderson, O.S.B., monk of Saint Vincent Archabbey, as we make a pilgrimage along the ancient Camino de Compostela in Spain and ask God to Guide our Feet into the Way of Peace. This retreat and walk - mostly along the northern coast of Spain along the Camino del Norte - will conclude with pilgrims walking the final 12 miles into Santiago de Compostela in Spain, to complete their pilgrimage with a visit to the tomb of the Apostle Saint James, the brother of Saint John.
Pilgrims will walk a total of approximately 100 miles over eight days as they traverse through villages, towns, and even some cities. The majority of the pilgrimage will lead participants along the Bay of Biscay. Walkers will frequent cafes, hotels and restaurants and experience the camaraderie with other pilgrims which adds meaning to the trip. Each day, in addition to praying the Divine Office and daily reflections, pilgrims will attend the Pilgrim Mass in the various towns the group will stay in.
