We're taking a stand for recovery at the 11th Annual Celebration of HOPE Walk!
On September 7, 2024, we invite you to support our team, "Steps of Hope: Honoring Jessica and Heather" as we walk in honor of Jessica and Heather. Jessica and Heather are both the biological mothers of James and Harley, as well as Harley’s half-sister Annabelle. In becoming a mother to both James and Harley over the last few years, I feel it is a gift that I can share the title of “mom” with both of these women and by extension, I hope I have been a positive female influence in Annabelle's journey as well.
This walk is more than just a tribute—it's a healing journey for our family, for Jessica's family, and for Heather’s family. By participating, we give our children a space to grieve, honor their mothers' memories, and understand the impact of addiction. It's important to me that my children can remember their mothers with love and without the shadow of this disease affecting their memories. Just as anyone would separate a loved one's memory from an illness like cancer or heart disease, I hope they can cherish the beautiful moments they shared with their mothers. Through this experience, they also witness the hope and strength that comes with recovery.
We walk to honor Jessica and Heather and to support HOPE Sheds Light's mission to educate and provide hope and resources for recovery. Please consider joining our team to walk or donating to our team and helping us make a difference in the lives of those affected by addiction. Your support means the world to our family and to many others who are on their own journeys of healing and hope.
